Row by Row round robin

Last year myself and 5 other quilters participated in a round robin quilt exchange. I had participated in these before and was always very pleased with the end result. We had many trials during this adventure but managed to complete the quilt tops. This year we are doing a Row by Row round robin with myself - Quilting Newbie- my sister (Quilting Newbie's mom), and my daughter Amy. I am not sure how this will turn out as I have never done a quilt in this fashion. Stay tuned for play by play pictures. A little bird just told me Quilting Newbie has gone shopping for material!!

Melissa"s Pillows and bag

Just adding the bag and pillows - from the previous post

Melissa's Black and White Quilt

Finally finished the quilt I bought for my oldest daughter at the quilt show in October. It is for her new apartment in Vancouver British Columbia - Her colour scheme is black and white so this is why I bought the kit add to the decor in her home= It is very busy and definitely takes me out comfort zone when it comes to quilt colours- We also included to pillows and the purse was made by my youngest daughter Amy and my other daughter Erin filled it with goodies for Melissa= So this is a joint effort to bring a little piece of home to Melissa at Christmas when she is soooo far away- Now off to the courier place tomorrow as the clock is ticking--

Dignity Quilt

I was approached by a local nursing home to create a Dignity Quilt - I had no idea what this was but this Nursing Home was my mother's home for many years so they do hold a special place in my life- When a resident passes on at the nursing home the funeral home comes and takes the resident out of the home thru the hallways of the home

The staff and residents wanted a quilt created to cover the resident on their journey out of the home = " To leave with Dignity "- I was given carte blanche on this project so I created a center with Doves flying upwards - then added several borders to it as it had to be a specific size.

Hope to have a picture posted soon!!!
