Dignity Quilt presentation

This was the presentation of the Dignity Quilt to the Residents at the Extendicare Nursing home in Haileybury- The pictures of the quilt are not so great but the residents were very appreciative of the quilt. The back of the quilt has squares of clothing that residents gave me to add to the quilt- This quilt will be laid over the residents as they make their final journey down the hall and out of the nursing home.

What a beautiful idea. The same is done here in Windsor at Hospice Village except I think the quilt doesn't contain any clothing pieces. When my Aunt passed away the nurses laid the quilt over her as the funeral home wheeled her out.(bad choice of words, I know, but I can't think of the correct ones)It was a very nice gesture.

My mother spent many years in this Nursing Home- I think it is a wonderful idea - the residents wanted the patches on the back to represent them walking with the deceased resident to the door.

D, this turned out so nice. I wasn't sure what the back represented...Oh My Gosh, your explanation is just lovely. Congratulations.
